Literature Text

One stone not thrown to save a life
One death to save the world from strife
One voice to ease and soothe the pain
One love that fills all up the same
One bread so brothers do not hide
One man to be God glorified

Two sticks to hold him hanging there
Two books proclaimed everywhere
Two coins worth more than greatest wealth
Two hands to bring on perfect health
Two eyes to view a world of cries
Two feet spread the word far and wide

Three nails impound his hands and feet
Three days to rise, then friends he meets
Three men aligned to die that day
Three words were the last he could say
Three; the father, son, holy ghost
Three work as one to give the most

One man, one love, with much to give
Two hands, three nails, lifetimes to live
This one took me FOREVER to write. Most of the time was spent merely doing research for how many things in the New Testament corresponded to the numbers 1, 2, and 3. 3 was really easy to do (because 3 is such a monumental number in the Christian faith) and I think I wrote the third verse first. Then I had all of these lines, and needed the same amount of lines to match for 1 and 2; which was the main reason why the rest of the poem was difficult.
Got the whole thing done though, regardless, and I was quite happy with the result.
